Culture and History
Cochise Origins - A video highlighting a few of the natural and man made wonders of Cochise County and its history.
The Amerind Foundation - A museum of Native American archaeology, art, history, and culture in beautiful Texas Canyon.
Gallery of Dreams (St. David) - exhibits 50 artists from throughout the United States including local artists. Virtually all media are represented. Check the website for workshops and "meet the artist" events.
Cochise Stronghold - This site, maintained by a local Bed & Breakfast, presents some of the history of the famous Chiricahua Apache Chief, Cochise.
Gammons Gulch - A new Old West ghost town and movie set just north of Benson. Built by hand using old materials by Jay Gammons. Check regarding reservations during summer months.
Slaughter Ranch - a National Historic Landmark near Douglas. This web site provides information on picnicking and birding on the ranch. There are also links to other points of interest.
Holy Trinity Monastery - An Olivetan Benedictine Monastery in St. David that has two festivals each year. There is also an RV park, bookstore, gift shop and art gallery.
Unique Places to Stay or Dine
Down By the River Bed and Breakfast (St. David) - situated on the San Pedro River in the village of St. David, this property abounds with wild life and birds. You can also check out the heavens with their Dobsonian telescope.
Dancing Crane Cottage (Near McNeal) - you can rent this strawbale home on the edge of a wildlife preserve . Observe Sandhill Cranes in a winter nesting area.
Gym Club Suites (Bisbee) - originally built in 1903 as the YMCA, the building was renovated into spacious apartments in the 1980's.
The Gadsden Hotel (Douglas) - a beautiful place to stay, dine or simply visit. The white marble lobby with its 42 foot Tiffany mural is a remarkable feature of this 1907 landmark.
Traingle T Guest Ranch - one of the oldest ranches in Arizona in a unique setting in beautiful Texas Canyon with casitas, RV accommodations, restaurant and saloon.
Copper Queen Hotel (Bisbee) - The oldest continuously operating hotel in Arizona. Each room is historic and unique - no two room are alike. Throughout the Copper Queen's 100+ year history many celebrities visited the hotel. You can inquire about the John Wayne, Teddy Roosevelt or Julia Lowell rooms.
Cafe Roka (Bisbee) - Constructed in 1907, the Costello Building has been through a lot. Excellent food and ambiance. Reservations required.
Gracie's Station (Benson) - Opened in 2009, this restaurant offers good food in a very friendly and family oriented atmosphere. Since their opening, service has been outstanding.
Letson Loft Hotel (Bisbee) - The historic buildings known as the "Letson Block" are estimated to have been constructed between 1883 and 1888. These are recognized as the oldest brick structures in Bisbee.
Grapevine Canyon Ranch (Pearce) - an Arizona dude and working cattle ranch, offers horseback riding vacations, pack trips and adventure horse treks, in the prettiest part of Arizona.
Nature, Hiking, biking, horseback riding and other outdoor activities
San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area - contains nearly 57,000 acres of public land in Cochise County between the international border with Mexico and St. David, Arizona.
Kartchner Caverns State Park - Information and on-line reservation form for cavern tours and additional information on park facilities, hiking trails and more.
Colossal Cave - Want more spelunking? Colossal Cave is a dormant cave filled with history.
Muleshoe Ranch Cooperative Management Area - Fantastic hikers' paradise with trails, vistas, wildlife and birds. Overnight guests enjoy a visitor center, more than 22 miles of hiking trails and loops, unlimited exploring, soaking in the hot springs, star gazing and watching some of the more than 180 bird species recorded here.
Ramsey Canyon Preserve - A Nature Conversancy property were over 400 species of plants and 170 species of birds can be found in and nearby the preserve
Wings over Willcox - See Sandhill Cranes as they nest for the winter in the Willcox Playa. This is an annual late winter event so the site may reflect the last "WoW" depending upon when you visit the site.
Chiricahua National Forest - The Chiricahua Wilderness is home to a fascinating diversity of both plant and animal life, as well as some of the Southwest’s most spectacular geology. Go prepared and check out Cave Trail.
Queen Mine Tour - Experience the life and work of the miners in Bisbee. Don the mining lanterns, hats and slickers of the miners and ride the mine train deep into the mine. The mine opened in 1877 and this tour, led by retired miners, shows you what it was like working in this productive mine.
Fairbank, Arizona - A ghost town between Tombstone and Sierra Vista with buildings dating from early 1900's.
Singing Wind Bookshop - The Singing Wind Bookshop is on a working ranch north of Benson. The bookshop is filled with books on the history and lore of the southwest. (Note: the bookshop does not have a web site, this is a link to Fodor's site.)
Education

Cochise Community College - An excellent community college offering over 120 programs of study with facilities in Benson, Douglas, Sierra Vista, Willcox and an on-line campus.
Recreation (Golf)
Turquoise Hills Golf & RV (Benson) - An 18 hole, par 58 "executive course" set in the gently rolling hills of the San Pedro River Valley. The facility includes a restaurant and bar. And the site has a calendar of events.
Turquoise Valley Golf, Restaurant & RV Park (Naco) - Experience the longest golf hole in the Old West / Southwest - 747 yard, par 6 hole known as, "the Rattler."

San Pedro Golf Course (Benson) - San Pedro Golf Course is closed and is for sale. We hope to announce a re-opening soon.
Douglas Municipal Golf Course - Built in 1947 by golf course architect A. H. Jolly, this course hosts a Labor Day Tournament (3 Day Event), one of the oldest golf tournaments in the country.
Shadow Mountain Golf Course (Sunsites/Pearce) - Shadow Mountain features an 18 hole, par 72 “Championship Golf Course” as well as the Shadow Mountain Clubhouse with Pro Shop, restaurant and motel.

Southeast Arizona Medical Center (Douglas) - Southeast Arizona Medical Center provides general medical and surgical care for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room patients.
Sierra Vista Regional Health Center
Northern Cochise Health System (Willcox) - A Level IV Trauma Center, the NCHS provides the important first steps in the care of a trauma patient: initial evaluation, stabilization, diagnostics, and when appropriate, transfer to a higher level of care.
