"HUD Friday" Price Reductions
HUD annouces new listings and price reductions on Friday hence the term “HUD Friday.”

There are two properties with price reductions.
  1. Modular on San Carlos in Sierra Vista reduced $12,000; new price $96,000.
  2. Modular on Danny Lane in Sierra Vista reduced $7,500; new price $67,500.

Freddie, Fannie & FHA Loan Limits Extended

NAR Lauds Extension of Higher Loan Limits
The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® thanked Congress for speedy action in passing a congressional resolution yesterday that would extend the current higher Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA loan limits through 2010. The present loan limits would expire at the end of 2009 and revert to previous lower limits.

Remodeling Costs Decrease

Remodeling costs are down an average of 5 percent to 10 percent nationwide with some areas down 20 percent, the remodeling industry reports.

FHA 203(k) Loans on the Rise

A 203(k) loan is a great way to go when buying a HUD home. Often HUD homes are lacking appliances and as long as the property still qualifies for FHA backed financing, the 203(k) can fund your appliance purchase. The amount borrowed is combined with your loan on the property so you pay off the cost of the appliances over the term of the loan. And the 203(k) can also be used to pay for repairs.

Mortgage Applications Fall Again

Mortgage applications declined again last week, falling 12.3 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis compared with the previous week.
