The city of Benson, Arizona has a Bluegrass Festival each year that is gaining in stature. The 2010 festival is April 23 through the 25th. You can purchase tickets on the Benson/San Pedro Valley Chamber of Commerce web site. Clicking on the image will take you to the program flier.

Visit with Cochise County wineries.

If you have an interest in wine you do not have to set your interest aside when visiting or living in Cochise County.

Vinopedia has information on the eight Cochise County wine producers. Some of these producers have wine tasting at the vineyard or in shops. Here is a list of producers linking to their web site.

Tombstone Courthouse To Remain Open

Good News! The Tombstone Courthouse historical site will remain open. Tourism is a major contributor to the Cochise County economy. Keeping our state parks open is highly beneficial.

Celebrate The Arts

The 8 day “Celebrate The Arts” program got underway last night at the Cochise College Benson Center with a performance by the Cochise College guitar quartet, food prepared by the Benson and St. David high school students in the culinary arts program and the Duane Rilley quartet playing Dixieland and swing music. All events are open to the public and most are free of charge.

The rest of the program is available after the jump. If you are in the area stop by the Benson Center on Route 90 approximately 1 mile south of Interstate 10 exit 302. The area is rich with talented local artists.

More Ghosts

A new web site was launched this month, “Spirits of Cochise County.” I hope we get to know more about the ghosts in this county. In February we posted an article titled, “Ghosts In Cochise County?” in which we ghosts in Bisbee and Willcox.
